I have always been so proud of her & never forgotten her bravery, she was proud of me as well, showing me off to friends during the few times I saw her before she passed away from Cancer, too young & not deserving the hard life she had to deal with through poor relationships It also kept my eldest Sister Margaret occupied as only being two years older than me she would stand up to these bastards & not back down. My Mother took up with every no hoper, all drunks with some violent which kept the local Police occupied. I eventually heard that he had passed away & was buried in Cessnock NSW, at the time my family & I were living in the next town to Cessnock. After this brief encounter, I never saw him again as I could not forgive him for abandoning us kids. Many years later I called at a house in Redfern, NSW expecting to meet one of my Sisters, Heather, after a knock on the door a man appeared & in conversation introduced himself as my Father who had abandoned us as young children.
